The figure of the menina no longer only represents a seventeenth century Spanish court lady, it has now become a synonym for art and a new symbol of Madrid. In the case of this sculpture created by hand by the contemporary artist Rosa Luis Elordui, we can speak about a new turn in the history of the meninas, a consequence of the artist's peculiar style. A style with a childish touch, which makes this character that is so far back in time, something endearing and capable to convey warmth all around it.
