Black Bull

Ceramic bull.

For thousands of years the bull has been a symbol of strength and fertility in different cultures, but little by little this noble animal has been becoming a symbol of Spain. Symbol that, at its origin, as we can observe in the pictorial and sculptural representations of this animal, was full of respect and worship, although that over time it was transformed into an image of celebration.

In this ceramic figure we can observe a bull bravo in defensive posture that, we need to remember that this herbivorous animal attacks only when it feels threatened. This posture transmits perfectly the strength and will of a bull. The finish of this ceramic figure presents a texture treatment and gold details, characteristic of the works of the potter house De Rosa.
