Long criticized for being too deviant, sensual and erotic, Mr. Klimt´s paintings are now hailed as some of the greatest works of genius ever crafted in Vienna, a city with no shortage of artistic wonders. 

“The Kiss” (1908) embodies its creator’s trademark characteristics: Golden paint, symbolism, distinct areas of both detailed and abstract spaces, and the beauty and elegance of the female figure.
