One of the largest mammals, the one with the largest brain, and the one that sleeps the least. This fascinating animal has aroused our curiosity since time immemorial, and not only for being the most in many things, but also for its similarity to us. The size of elephants' brains at birth represents only 35% of their final adult volume, and on the other hand, a human baby's brain is 28% of its final adult volume. The curious thing is that in most mammals this is not the case, and they are born with a brain volume close to what they will have as adults. Therefore, the elephant's brain, like ours, develops as they grow, so they have a great capacity for learning. In addition, an elephant is capable of showing a multitude of emotions that also occur in humans, such as sadness, compassion, empathy, generosity and also self-awareness. It is therefore one of the most fascinating animals, and for all these reasons the artisans of the De Rosa firm wanted to honor it with this ceramic figure.

This ceramic elephant has been created entirely by hand, using the unique and characteristic decoration technique of this family firm from Uruguay, in which knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation for more than 70 years.
