The Helmeted Monster Bird

This monstrous bird with a helmet carries a pen box and an inkwell in its beak, in which the nun, decomposing into a pig, dips her pen. A severed foot hangs from the bird's helmet, referring to the horrific corporal punishments that might await in hell. The pig, truly an accusation against the decaying life of the clergy, tempts the man sitting next to it, and it appears he is preparing a contract. Is the man possibly selling his soul?
