Many recognize a self-portrait in one of Bosch’s most famous hybrid creatures. The hollow space in the ovoid body provides the space for a pub. All the breaks drifting by the two boats in which the arboreal legs are situated. The music and dancing may be poised with debauchery, symbolized by the bagpipes atop the headpiece.
