Ceramic figure of a chef orangutan.

Orangutans are one of the closest primates to the human being, so the artisans's from the De Rosa brand desire to humanaze it, is understandable. As we can observe in this ceramic figure , the animal has been represented with the traditional hat of a cook, a towel and a kneading roller. The figure, without a doubt, is fun, but at the same time it has a serious touch. The humanization of this primate awakens our compassion for them, so that perhaps in some way we are interested in the problems the orangutans faced by. We may then provide more attention to the product labels, for example, for not to consume palm oil, which causes the destruction of the home of these wonderful animals.

This ceramic sculpture has been completely performed by hand: starting with the mud mixture, going through the modeling and ending with the paint. Because or it, each ceramic animal created by the firm De Rosa, is slightly different from another.
