Goldcrest

Ceramic figure of bird Goldcrest.

With this ceramic figure we wanted to present you one of the smallest birds of the European bird population, the Goldcrest. Its size is between 9 and 11 cm, although even smaller specimens have been found. A curiosity about this bird that we want to tell you, is the speed of its metabolism, which forces Goldcrest feeding constantly. If it is not fed only in 20 minutes it can lose a third of its body weight and in one hour it could die.

In this ceramic sculpture we can observe a stylized representation of Goldcrest. The artisans of the family firm De Rosa have wanted to highlight the beauty of the plumage of this bird, creating an original texture and adding some details in gold to the piece. This ceramic sculpture has been created by hand through pottery techniques that go from generation to generation in the De Rosa family brand.
